Adams & Miles LLP is pleased to announce that Tony Sokic has taken on the role of Managing Partner of the firm. Tony is passionate about building trusting relationships with his clients and helping them with issues ranging from traditional accounting and assurance, personal, corporate and estate planning and compliance, and business advisory. He’s also deeply committed to the sharing of knowledge and technical expertise within the Adams & Miles LLP team so that all team members can grow professionally.
Tony began his career in 1989, articling with an international CPA firm, before joining Adams & Miles LLP in 1992 and becoming a partner in 1997, serving clients in the medical, legal, manufacturing, distribution and construction industries. Dedicated to enhancing the advancement of the profession, Tony serves as a member of CPA Ontario’s Professional Conduct Committee and regularly contributes to AGN – our international association of independent accounting firms. Equally committed to giving back to his community, Tony is also a member of the Planning Team for the Central Ontario Ride for Sight, benefitting The Foundation Fighting Blindness; and has volunteered for the various weekend walks to end cancer, benefitting the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, since 2002, along with the Great Camp Adventure Walk, benefitting SickKids Hospital.
Tony attributes a big part of his success at the firm to his wife of 26 years, Donna O’Brien-Sokic. Donna is a former TV executive and is now a professor of film and television production at Humber College. Together they have two children – Alanna, a graduate of McGill University who works in government relations for Global Public Affairs; and Nicholas, who is completing his Master’s in Journalism from University Western Ontario and will be starting an internship after graduation in the spring of 2019.
What Tony looks forward to most as he takes on the Managing Partner role is working with the rest of the Adams & Miles LLP team to grow and improve the firm, while nourishing a culture that encourages people to make a long-term home here. It’s a culture he values and believes will continue to set Adams & Miles apart for its people and clients.
