Both firms started in the 1920's and prior to the merger, they had shared a long association through the education consortium they founded over 30 years ago as well as sharing information and expertise on a number of other matters over the years. The decision to merge arose because the accounting and business worlds have undergone significant change over the last few years with the adoption of accounting rules and auditing standards on a worldwide basis in response to the increased globalization of business. More and more of our clients operate in the US and overseas with increasingly complex needs and even our clients who operate locally have been affected by these changes.

Firms now need the ability to deliver a broader range of services with specialized resources to be able to continue to provide the highest quality professional services. It is evident that this trend will continue and the partners of the firms concluded that merger would best enable us to assemble the people, administrative and technological resources necessary to continue to provide the range of quality services needed by our clients as they respond to more complex business realities.
